Gehana Vasisht, a contestant of Ajaz Khan’s House Arrest defends the star and compares it with Priyanka Chopra and Radhika Apte’s scene in films and series.
Actress Gehana Vasisth who is currently seen on the reality show House Arrest hosted by Ajaz Khan, has responded to the ongoing controversy around the show. The video has been going viral on social media which featured Ajaz asking contestants to enact sexual positions. Within no time, the video faced backlash from the netizens and they demanded that the show be banned for spreading vulgarity.
Gehana said that she had been receiving multiple calls urging action for the show to get banned. She said, “People watch porn websites day and night, but no one raises questions about that”. She also compared their show with mainstream content and said that actors have done such roles in the past. “When Priyanka Chopra does nude scenes in Hollywood, or Radhika Apte is topless in Sacred Games, or Mandakini did bold scenes years ago, no one says it’s spoiling society,” Gehana said. As per the actress, such content is accepted when it appears on platforms like OTT or Hollywood films. She also said that if similar content is made by independent creators it is getting criticised. Gehana also called the reaction a ‘hypocritical’ one.
She further added saying, “I was not forced. I did the show of my own choice and was comfortable doing it,” she said. She said that her participation in House Arrest was voluntary. Gehana said that all contestants on the show are above 18 and are willingly taking part in the activities. She continued further saying, “Everyone is doing it by choice. No one is being forced. So why blame Ajaz Khan or Ullu? All the actions are done by us”.

House Arrest show has been surrounded by controversy and netizens are slamming it. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued notices to Ullu CEO Vibhu Agarwal and Ajaz Khan to summon them to appear before the Commission on May 9, 2025. In the video, Ajaz said, “Tumne experiment nahi kiya kabhi? (You’ve never experimented?)”.
In a statement, NCW said this kind of vulgar content violates women’s dignity. “It disregards the fundamental principles of consent, promotes sexual coercion under the guise of entertainment, and fails to follow any age-appropriate censorship guidelines,” said NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar. The platform has since removed all episodes of House Arrest from its website and an FIR has also reportedly been filed against host Ajaz Khan. The show features Gehna Vashisht, Nehal Vadoliya, and Abha Paul, along with Humeira Sheikh, Sarika Salunke, Muskaan Agarwal, Ritu Rai, Ayushi Bhowmik, Simran Kaur, Jonita D’Cruz, and Naina Chabbra.
