Pakistan And Afghanistan Were Received In Dowry
The story dates back to the time of Alexander’s invasion, who came from Greece and attacked India in 326 BC but he was not able to cross the mighty Vyas River. Alexander’s commander was Seleucus Nicator. He later came to India and crossed the river. At that time Magadha was ruled by Chandragupta Maurya. Chandragupta’s chief advisor and his teacher Chanakya forced Alexander’s army to return with his policies. Maurya had a large army of elephants. When Seleucus came to know about this, he also brought an army of elephants to fight the Indian king.
Chanakya advised Chandragupta to send an army of horses against the elephants. He waited for the rainy season and started the war at a place where water used to accumulate. Due to the accumulation of water, the elephants started having trouble walking. The horses started overpowering the elephants. Seleucus came to fight with chariots that got stuck in the muddy fields. Chandragupta’s army had loose horses. Seeing his defeat, Seleucus decided to marry his daughter, Helen, to Chandragupta Maurya.
