Online fashion brand ‘Bewakoof’, known for its fun and different designs, has recently completed its 13 years. Its founder and CEO is Prabhkiran Singh had laid its foundation with Siddharth Munot. Bewakoof, a popular brand amoong the teenagers was started on the top floor with a tin shed in a Mumbai slum but in no time became a brand worth crores.
In 2022, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) acquired a major stake in ‘Bewakoof‘ through its subsidiary TMRW House of Brands. Prabhkiran Singh has been instumental in the success of Bewakoof. Let’s know his story.
Prabhkiran Singh was born in 1990 and studied at IIT Bombay. He did B.Tech in Civil Engineering but always wanted to become a cricketer. Knowing that he would not be able to do a 9-5 job, he started planning to start his own business from his college days. As first step he started a lassi cafe named ‘Khadke Ji Lassi’ and in in 2012, he co-founded Bewakoof with just Rs 30,000. Prabhkiran Singh who currently lives in Mumbai, also did a two-month internship at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

Bewakoof grew rapidly under his leadership. Its headquarters is in Mumbai. Prabhkiran Singh started Bewakoof with just Rs 30,000. After six months, the company started getting seed funding. Prabhkiran also raised angel funding through Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal as well as former MD of IDFC Securities Nikhil Vora. In December 2022, Aditya Birla’s TMRW acquired 70-80% stake in Bewakoof by investing Rs 200 crore. Bewakoof is now a subsidiary of Aditya Birla’s TMRW.
‘Bewakoof’ is one of India’s largest D2C online brands. The company aims to become the most loved and respected brand among the youth. Prabhkiran Singh’s success shows that if you have the passion to work hard and with dedication, then anything can be achieved. Prabhkiran Singh’s creation of an empire worth crores from a small beginning is an example of this. Prabhkiran Singh is a source of inspiration for millions of youth today.
