Karisma Kapoor‘s ex-husband, Sanjay Kapur, died on June 12 due to a heart attack during a polo match in England. A funeral was held on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground, New Delhi. His family had announced a prayer meeting in memory of Sanjay Kapur on June 22 in New Delhi. Karisma Kapoor, along with their two children, Samaira and Kiaan, arrived in Delhi to attend the ceremony.
As evident from videos that are being circulated on social media, Sanjay Kapur’s ex-wife Karisma Kapoor and her sister Kareena Kapoor looked solemn as they arrived at the venue for the prayer meet.

Karisma Kapoor heads to Delhi for prayer
Karisma with her children were spotted in Mumbai airport leaving for Delhi on Sunday, and all of them were dressed in white for the prayer. As per reports, Kareena Kapoor and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, were also spotted at the airport, and they will be joining Karisma at Sanjay Kapur’s prayer meet in Delhi.
Announcement made by Sanjay’s family
Sanjay Kapur’s family earlier announced the details of his last rites and prayer meeting. Sanjay’s last rites were held on Thursday at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi, and the prayer meeting will be held on June 22 between 4-5 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel. The family member, including his mother Rani Surinder Kapur, wife Priya, and children, has signed off on the announcement. Karisma Kapoor, along with her kids’ names, was also mentioned.
How did Sanjay Kapur die?
Industrialist Sanjay Kapur died of a heart attack while playing polo. An eyewitness said that Sanjay had swallowed a bee and stung his throat, and he requested the game to stop and then left the ground.
Before Sanjay Kapur died, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to express condolences to the victims of the Air India crash in Ahmedabad and posted, “Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad… May they find strength in this difficult hour.”
