But have you ever wondered how much electricity is consumed by Mukesh Ambani’s towering mansion, and how much electricity bill is paid by the Ambanis each month? Let us find out.
How much electricity is required to run the Antilia?
Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia home is a towering skyscraper with 27 floors, nine elevators, three helipads, and a parking space that can easily accommodate at least 160 vehicles. Additionally, the Antilia is home to more than 600 employees, including gardeners, cooks, plumbers, and in-house electricians, who work for the Ambani family and keep the gigantic mansion running.
Apart from this, all rooms inside the lavish mansion are equipped with high-tech state-of-the-art facilities, and as such the house needs a large amount of electricity to operate smoothly.
According to various media reports, each room in the Antilia consumes an average of 300 units, while the median consumption of the entire structure is around 6,37,240 per month, which is equivalent to the monthly electricity consumption of about 7000 middle-class households in Mumbai.
Antilia electricity bill
As per reports, Mukesh Ambani pays an monthly electricity bill of around Rs 70 lakh, with a discount of Rs 48,354, for his Antilia mansion, with the structure’s elevated parking facility and high-end air conditioning features consuming the most amount of power.
Reports quoting Antilia staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that the mansion’s power bill may surge in the coming months due to various high-tech facilities being upgraded and new ones being installed.
Antilia – Rs 15000 crore home of the Ambani family
Named after an island in Spain, Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia was designed by Perkins and Will, an American architecture firm, who incorporated anti-earthquake features into the building. As per reports, the Antilia is designed to withstand earthquakes of up to 8.0 on the Richter scale.
The grandeur of the Antilia can be gauged from the fact that each floor of the 27-storey building features a different floor plan and design, with its interiors adorned with Lotus and Sun shapes.
The Ambani family started living in the Antilia from 2011, almost a year after its completion, reportedly because the building was not built according to Vastu Shastra, following which a puja was performed by at least 50 priests to “remove the defect”. Later, the Ambanis shifted to Antilia in September and resided there ever since.
