TV actress Dipika Kakar expressed her feelings about being forced… She said that she underwent a major surgery for a cancerous tumour in her liver and cried her heart out.
Television actress Dipika Kakar who is well-known for her roles in the shows recently underwent major surgery for a cancerous tumour in her liver. She spoke her heart out about being forced to stop breastfeeding her almost two-year-old son Ruhaan following the diagnosis. “It was a major surgery. The first thing I had to do, which was one of the most difficult things, was wean Ruhaan in one night. I didn’t have an option. I had to do that. Main bahut royi…(I cried a lot that night). I had to wean him anyway as he will soon turn two, but I didn’t know it would be like this,” Kakar shared in her YouTube blog.
Dipika Kakar was forced to stop breastfeeding
Dipika saw the positive side of the situation and said, “There is always a good reason for everything. When we found out that my tumour was second-stage cancer, I was still feeding him. But then weaning off was good because I was relieved to know that he didn’t have to be fed what I was supposed to have, like medications, etc”.
Dipika’s vlog was titled “Duaon Ke Liye Dil Se Shukriya”. She returned home after being in the hospital for 11 days post the 14-hour-long surgery. Dipika was seen getting emotional in the entire vlog. Dipika even said that with many medicines going into her body and treatment starting, it was better not to breastfeed Ruhaan.
Dipika expressed her gratitude as she thanked her fans for their prayers and heartfelt wishes. She said that she has cried a lot due to happiness as she knows that many people love her. She also said that she feels truly blessed and a little proud to have earned so much love.
In Shoaib’s vlog, Dipika confirmed that she is now ‘free from the tumour’, but her treatment is still required. Shoaib had mentioned that Dipika’s gall bladder as well as a small portion of her liver were removed.

He shared note which read, “As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us… walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach… and then finding out its a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then Finding out that the tumour is Second stage Malignant (Cancerous) … it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced!”
Dipika met Shoaib Ibrahim on the set of Sasural Simar Ka and the two got married in 2018 in Bhopal. They welcomed their first child, son Ruhan, in 2023.
